Sookie Stackhouse #9: Dead and Gone

14 hours ago ago from I have an irrational hatred of the term "blog".

WHA? I was reading a normal Sookie book until the very end and then ... wha? It's like the HBO execs said, hey you have a tv show now, so wrap up this book pronto and ... uh, make it more gory and stuff. *is confused* The ending was so rushed and ... random. I'm about a year late to this party, but am a bit confuzzled about how to feel about this one. All I have to say is that I hope what happened to Bill is permanent.

Best of the '00s in TV

10 hours ago ago from What's Alan Watching?

Like every other TV critic on the planet, I've spent much of the last month preparing my list of the best TV shows of the last decade. In the end, my resolve was too weak to limit it to a single list - even if I were to do 30-plus entries the way Fienberg has been doing all month - and so get ready for what James Poniewozik calls the "Everybody gets a trophy!" approach. So go read the introduction , where I muse a bit on why the '00s were ...

14 hours ago ago from From Inside the Box

The Golden Globes tend to be pretty difficult to predict, but one thing that has been pretty reliable in recent years has been the willingness to recognize new TV series at the awards. Which could make for a very crowded comedy field this year. The mini-renaissance of TV comedy this year, on both broadcast and cable networks, could land several new shows in the best comedy series category when the nominations are announced Tuesday. In ...

4 hours ago ago from TV Squad

In honor of the great Frank Costanza, and to ring in the holiday season, we're celebrating Festivus here at the Squad by sharing our personal TV wish lists. This year, I'm wishing for ... An awesome end for Dollhouse . I know its cancellation was inevitable - the series was forever tanking in the ratings, and even Joss Whedon devotees were sometimes underwhelmed by it - but I really loved the experimental nature of the show. Dollhouse was a ...

2 hours ago ago from TV Squad

(S05E12) Well, that's it for season five of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia . It would have been foolish to expect something mind-blowing this week, because, as usual, the show didn't go out with a bang or any nail-biting cliffhanger. So in this episode, the gang wanted to reclaim their former ...
