It is essentially proven fact at this point that James Cameron knows how to make spectacle. He can be obsessed with water and the color blue, he can come off as a sociopathic control freak in interviews, but goddamn does the man know how to film an action sequence. It takes a lot for me to really like CGI ladened movies. I have to qualify that I am one of the few who hated the Star Wars numer-olgy series. I like animation cause it does not pretend to be anything but cartoons even with better CGI. I tolerate the Transformers cause its action, but it has no soul.
