I was up all night writing letters to several people, trying to get stuff off my mind. Thousands of words later, I can say that I'm feeling better whether or not anything comes of it. I had an appointment at Pederson Krag for yet another intake into the program. The lady was quite apologetic about the confusion and run around I've been getting lately. She says that they hate to see people who are actually trying to do the work get treated ...

What sort of profession in the wizarding world would you choose and why? History is my first love, so I'd like to do something to get people more interested in the history of the wizarding world. Witches and wizards aren't really exposed to their own history apart from their history of magic classes at Hogwarts...and I got the impression that no one really listened in that class. =P Are there museums for wizards? If not, I would start one. ...

Then I started to write this Blog in October sometime, earlier I use to write a diary at night before going to sleep, everyday.. but for some reason I started this a ...

CHAVEZ: then he [CHAVEZ] wound up to his grand conclusion – 20 minutes after his 5 minute speaking time was supposed to have ended and after quoting everyone from Karl Marx to Jesus Christ — “our revolution seeks to help all people…socialism, the other ghost that is probably wandering around this room, that’s the way to save the planet, capitalism is the road to hell…. let’s fight against capitalism and make it obey us.” He won a standing ...

"The inspiration of a noble cause involving human interests wide and far, enables men to do things they did not dream themselves capable of before, and which they were not capable of alone. The consciousness of belonging, vitally, to something beyond individuality; of being part of a personality that reaches we know not where, in space and time, greatens the heart to the limit of the soul's ideal, and builds out the supreme of character." ...

David Kroodsma: Hope Amid Despair in Copenhagen

The mood in Copenhagen on the second to last day of negotiations is exhausted and defeated. Few people have pleasant things to say about the climate negotiations. Most have bags under their eyes. At the KlimaForum (a conference center in the center of town), I talked to a number of individuals, asking how they felt. Two girls with long blond hair told me they were planning to shave their heads in protest the next day. I told them I was the ...

Last night, I ambled home through the snow after another 20 hour day and stayed up too late watching the inspiring documentary By the People: The Election of Barack Obama . I guess the Danes decided it made sense to broadcast on the eve of his arrival in Copenhagen. I also read Kumi Naidoo's open letter to Barack Obama . And I hoped. I hoped against hope that one man could pick up the pieces of these broken negotiations and make things ...

"The government's gotten too lazy since 9/11," said the elderly Texan woman seated a row behind me on an airplane last Friday, as I eavesdropped on her conversation with a fellow passenger. "They keep letting all of these people in -- and it's going to get us killed." These people ? She then thanked the good Lord for Glenn Beck, "the one guy who's willing to say it like it is." As a Pakistani-American, and presumably one of "these ...
