it's cheaper to pay the bill, prepayment is a lot dearer. my daughter has a gas and electricity card meter and she found herself in debt with both. if the price of gas/electricity prices go up, your meters should be re-set to the rises, otherwise you will find that over time you will be in debt on them. look on the question and answer pages on the electricity company's web site, under pre payment meters. good luck.
