I Drilled Through A Door Only To Realise It Could Contain Asbestos On The Other Side?

Its a heavy door with boarding on the other side, I drilled right through it. Door is from late 1940's I would think. I just thought what the hell I've done it now so I might as well finish the job. My question is though if it was supposed to be a fire door why is there a huge 2 inch (2.5cm) gap at the bottom?

This is a mostly all Cherry Wine Butler. It has a little Imbuia set into the legs and around the cabinet door openings. The top is made of two book matched cherry slabs. The wine holder racks are adjustable/removable. The glass in the two doors are a pond ripple look which gives the necks of the wine bottles a nice subtle distortion.
