Ingrid Peritz has a good piece in the Globe & Mail about French spelling reform being bought by the Quebec education ministry, although even if ils s'occupent de leurs ognons it'll never look right to me. This is the list of new approved spellings . A lot of hats are also thrown off: flute, bruler, maitre, paraitre.
