This chair was part of my retrospect 50/26 exhibit in 2008. The seat is hand carved from a 4 slab of reclaimed narra wood. The back splat is woven dungon (iron wood) slats. I designed and built the first Datu chair in 1988 as part of my Filipino inspired line for the designers row at the Furniture Fair in Manila. This design won me a best designer award for that year.
