The pace of bank closures seem to be accelerating as we approach year-end. This week 7 banks were closed with the total cost to the insurance fund $1,803,000,000 (that's $1.803 billion, it looks more real when it is written as a number). Next year is going to be a very bad year for the FDIC. My guess is they will be hitting up the $500 billion credit line they have with the taxpayers.
