I went with Da Budda since it appears that it is almost indestructible. I plan on taking temp readings using my hand held infrared thermometer and them marking off the temps on the dial settings. Question: Exactly Where Do I get My Readings From? I assume the heating element???

I've had a candy thermometer ( Taylor brand) for a year now but have never used it because I hadn't figured out how to clip it to the side of the pot.
