So is there anyway I can upgrade the Hz my TV is running at? At the time of purchase, we were not told that the picture improvement is only noticeable on a TV running at 120Hz or higher. You can call Sony's 1-800 customer support and ask them if the 120Hz boards on other models would work for yours.
