23 hours ago ago from My Two Census
Media Post is reporting that the Census Bureau will advertise during the Super Bowl in February. The Bureau is expected to spend more than $300 million on marketing this year, with a significant portion of that devoted to paid advertising. The article explains why the Super Bowl ad is important for the Census Bureau: The Feb. 7 game on CBS comes soon after the Census kicks off a $300 million-plus outreach campaign. And ...

It appears there will not be any Pepsi commercials on the upcoming Super Bowl after a 23 year run. Now other Frito-Lay will still have some but not Pepsi the soda. This is compared to the $15 million they spent in Super Bowl commercials last year. It appears that Pepsi realizes their money is better spent on Internet advertising. I find this very interesting. How many other advertisers are going to be moving in this direction? What effect ...

I found some really exciting ads this year. Lots of creativity and almost every time these ads were played on the TV, I wouldn't take my eye away. Here are some of my favorite ads. TATA DOCOMO Friendship Express : This one is not a great ad but execellent music and creativity. The music here is known as A Cappella (music without any musical instruments). Oh, well. It was an exciting comeback in the fourth quarter. Now the Colts are the only undefeated team. I wouldn't mind seeing them win the Super Bowl and end up 19-0 on the year!

I don't think I did one of these lists last year, and I have no idea why. The election all by itself would have generated a pretty fun best/worst list. Maybe we were all suffering from information overload, and were just exhausted. Not sure. But 2009 had a lot of interesting TV, too, just not all in one category. As I've done in the past, I'll dispense with the usual "best show" and "worst show" lists and just make up categories: GOODNESS ...

What a year! Once we got over the WGA strike, the networks kicked it into high gear and got busy making TV. Except for NBC. Even Jeff Zucker has admitted that NBCU has failed to respond to the need for new programming. Fortunately, the other channels have been busy and there's been a lot of great television... and some that's just plain awful. But I'm a half-glass full kind of person and I have good feelings about 2009. However, since I ...
